Built for Builders, Designers, Restaurants, and Small Businesses
This black metal pedestal table base is made for customers who build, specify, furnish, and sell furniture. It is a practical component for DIY homeowners, woodworking shops, local furniture builders, restaurant owners, interior designers, contractors, commercial furniture suppliers, and small businesses producing modern table products.
For DIY builders, the M14 base provides a clean metal foundation for dining tables, desks, and live-edge projects without requiring metal fabrication. For small furniture businesses, it offers a repeatable steel base component that can be paired with different tabletop materials, sizes, and finishes. The same base can support a live-edge dining table, a modern farmhouse desk, a restaurant table, a conference table, or a rustic contemporary work table depending on the final tabletop design.
The black powder-coated finish gives builders practical design flexibility. This base can coordinate with walnut, oak, maple, acacia, pine, reclaimed wood, butcher block, painted tops, stained hardwood tops, and mixed-material furniture designs.
Modern Metal Pedestal Style and Design Application
Metal pedestal table bases are often selected for projects that require a clean base profile, strong material contrast, and modern visual structure. In dining table, desk, and restaurant table design, the base needs to support the tabletop visually while keeping the overall silhouette clean and functional. The M14 base uses black steel construction to create a grounded appearance that works across both residential and commercial interiors.
The pedestal form allows the tabletop to remain the visual focus while the black steel base adds structure and contrast. This makes the M14 suitable for modern farmhouse dining rooms, industrial restaurants, rustic contemporary offices, live-edge furniture builds, mid-century modern interiors, and transitional spaces that combine wood and metal materials.
For a modern farmhouse dining table, pair this black metal base with a warm wood tabletop and a restrained finish palette.
For an industrial table, use a reclaimed wood, butcher block, or darker stained top with the black steel base.
For a live-edge table, pair the base with an organic wood slab to create contrast between natural wood movement and clean metal structure.
For a restaurant or commercial setting, use the base with consistent tabletop finishes to create a clean, repeatable furniture layout.
For a small business product line, use the same metal base across multiple tabletop options, including oak, walnut-tone, acacia, natural wood, espresso, gray wash, or painted finishes.
Recommended Applications
This black steel pedestal base is appropriate for a wide range of furniture projects, including dining tables, kitchen tables, desks, restaurant tables, conference tables, live-edge tables, butcher block tables, work tables, retail display tables, commercial furniture, and small-batch furniture production.
The heavy-gauge steel construction and black finish make this base especially useful for projects that need a clean, durable, modern furniture component. It is well suited for wood-and-metal furniture designs where the tabletop provides warmth and the base provides visual structure.

Wood is already art, but these legs just set off the table top (walnut butcher block I stained and then applied my magical 6 coats of urethane. The legs are much easier to install with two people (which I had; son-in-law), but they're doable with one I'm sure--all in, installing the legs, was probably 25-40 minutes and that included having my 8-year-old granddaughter helping with the ratchet on several lag bolts (I used twelve [6 to a leg] 1 1/4-inch bolt with a tabletop thickness of 1 1/2"). These legs were a fabulous investment.
I love them. They hold my 45-50 lb table too easily and they are beautiful. Thank you for the great look and the great price.
Not quite right for our purpose, but we'll make it work. Not good for glass tabletops.
Perfect for the table top that I bought at a restoration hardware outlet that did not have a base. These are strong and hard and look just like the picture.
